Is your Nintendo DS Lite top LCD screen cracked, have lines running through it, showing a blank white screen - or simply not turning on? Here's the repair part you need. The Nintendo DS (NDS) Lite top LCD screen.  The flat brown electronic ribbon cable from the upper LCD runs through the left hinge and is often damaged when you drop the DS Lite and break the hinge or shell.

If you wish to install yourself, you will need a special tri-wing security driver tool to get inside the Nintendo DS Lite (see link below). You will also need to de-solder the speaker wires from your old LCD and solder them onto the new one.  Then you need to peel off the plastic protective LCD cover from your old LCD and apply that to the new one.

We have part 1 of 3 of the repair video here, check under Repair Center on the green bar above for parts 2 and 3.   Also, check our FAQs under Information to see more tips on doing the repair.

While you are at it check out our other DS Lite Repair parts such as the DS Lite Replacement Lower LCD , and the Triwing Screw Driver used for most every DS Lite repair!

Tip: After your repair, when you power on your DS Lite, if the green power light and the lower screen flash once briefly then go off, it means the upper LCD is not communicating with the DS Lite.  You might not have inserted the ribbon cable quite all the way into the motherboard connector clip.  Try it again, a bit further.
